Ok, so the other day i was watching a show and i noticed that i couldn't hear Emily and when that happens i know that she is probably doing something that she is going to get in trouble for... so i called her and she didn't come so i went looking for her. We have a gate on the top of our stairs, but it wasn't closed tight and i didn't even think to look down stairs so i was looking in the bathroom and her room and my room and i couldn't find her so i went to go down stairs and she was laying on the bottom stair.......

I asked her if she was ok and she peeked up and told me to shhh that the kitty and her were sleeping!! She was copying boots and laying down pretending that she was sleeping. i thought it was so funny!! Emily does some pretty crazy stuff.

Thanksgiving weekend...

We went down to Michael's parents house in Levan for Thanksfgiving this year and it was a lot of fun, crazy, but fun. I used to think that i could handle craziness and lots of people, but after this weekend i think i change my mind!!!
Having Michael's parents and all 8 kids and their families squished into one house can be a little stressful!!
Well, lets talk about the fun stuff.... like eating thanksgiving dinner!! This is just one counter of food that we had... it was sooooo good. Michaels sister Marie (on the left) came from Indiana and the blond is Michaels other sister Julie.

Michael's mom had this really cute and REALLY HAIRY little kitten and Emily just loved it to peaces!! It would let her do whatever she wanted to it, just as long as she was giving it attention and some love.

Emily absolutley loved playing with her cousins!! Rachel would pick her up and cary her around and Emily would let her for the most part!

I guess the advatage of living on a farm is that you have sooo much land that you can do pretty much anything you want.
Michael's uncle has a clay pigeon shooter that hooks on the back of his truck and launches them out. We had a lot of fun shooting!! Michael bought me this gun last year and i love it!!

All of the grandkids begged and begged grandpa to get the horses and donkey out so that they could go on rides. Emily got on Pat and wouldn't get off. She loves rides!! I kept asking her what a donkey says and she would just say what a horse says... until she heard the donkey and then she got this huge grin on her face and started trying to make the sound of a donkey. i laughed so hard!!

We took family pictures (don't have the finished product yet), but all of the kids had fun playing while other families got thier pictures done. Emily played on the tramp most of the time and all of the big kids would get mad cause she kept falling down and crying.

And at the end of it all Emily just crashed!! Every night she was sooooo ready to go to bed. Grandma Kenison has this stuffed dog and she would just hug it so tight and fall asleep. what a cutie!!

canning...

Ok, so this year i have decided that i was going to be the domestic kind of person and do some canning, well, it's been MEGA canning for me!! It all started in June when we did about 50 quarts of Apricot necter from our tree out back, then it was pears and peaches. When the tomatoes came on it was 30 jars of tomatoes and 45 jars of spaghetti sauce and about 30 jars of green beans. Then 4 big buckets of grapes for juice and now we just did 100 quarts of apple sauce!!! I need a break!!!!! Harvest time is a crazy time!! I just want a vacation from it all. The end result gives me a good feeling though. i was thinking about this while i was reading the Enzine. This october for conference no one really talked about food storage, they talked about being spiritually prepared and i think that a lot of people (like me) must have gotten the hint from last time... food storage... food storage... food storage. :)

My little helper

The other day i was out mowing the lawn and Emily really wanted me to hold her, but obviously i couldn't so our mower has this bar that is the her hight and i pulled her over and had her help me push.

"i love to mow the lawn mommy!!! " i know she was thinking this :)

Run cat, RUN!!!

This is Emily's cat, Boots and i don't understand why, but she loves to smother and pick him up and choke him. She puts him in a tight hold and won't let go, and the wierdest thing is... Boots won't run away!!
She tackles him to the ground and puts him in a death grip...

Can Boots breathe???

Giddeon, Emily's cousin saw her attacking the cat so he came over and layed on top of him!!!

Poor Boots, poor, poor Boots!!

My lover is 29!!!

On August 8th (Michael's birthday) his family came up to our house for a get together/birthday party for him. I can't believe that he is 29!! Here is Emily helping her daddy blow his candles out.
Need i say more about this one...

Emily loved to wear the bows off of daddy's presents in her hair. She would put them on her head and then pull them off and then put them on again and pull them off...

This is Michael and Emily, Julie and Giddeon, John and Noah. These kids are pretty close in age and when they get a little bit bigger... watch out!!

Boating at Deer Creek

We went up to Deer Creek with my parents and Derek and his family to tube and ski. It was a really nice day to go. It wasn't too hot, but not cold either. We had so much fun :)
Here is Michael and Sadie... Ya know, i have never seen my dad ski!! In all the years that we, well, my dad, has had a boat i don't think that i have ever seen him not driving. He would always be the one in the boat driving trying to fly you off of a tube or somthing. It's good to know that he can :)

Sophie and Sadie: Derek and Carole's cute girls!!

Derek and i went on the tube and it was so much fun :) We got thrown around so much that i bounced into the middle and he flew off, then as my dad was going around to pick him up i hit a huge wave (probably our own wake) and flew off myself.

This is Michael and Emily on the tube just chilling by my mom. We stopped and swam for a while.

Sadie and my mom

...And finally Emily fell asleep right as we were headed back to the dock to get out of the lake... go figure!!

Pioneer Day

This year we went down to Levan for the 24th of July. They did a lot of fun things for the kids and had some blow up things to play on. So i invited my sister Christine and her kids to come down and play too, but most of all i wanted her to run the 5k with me so i didn't have to do it alone!! Boy was that a really stupid thing to do...let me explain. About 11 days before we went down i found out that they did a 5k (they call it a "fun run" ) so i thought to myself...i've been trying to loose some weight and i've been working out, so yeah i could do that no problem. Wow was i ever wrong. When they say that you need to train for a 5k they mean it!! So my goal was to not come in last place and at least i did that :) i was number 24 out of 30. Christine was number 10 and Candra (my neice) was number 11.I'm Pretty weak eh? Well next year will be diferent!!
Anyway, the kids got to be in a pig chase (small town, i know) this is Shaylee here in the brown shirt. She didn't really want to do it. Christine had to pull her out. This is Janice,Melenie and Audrey(my neice on Michael's side). They are on the far left (inside the fence) Audrey is in the green shirt, Janice in the pink and Melenie is right by her in the white.

They got to go on 4wheeler rides and we took them to the dairy to see all the cows and they sucked on thier fingers. Michael took them up deep canyon and caught a fish for them in the river with his bare hands.
Then at night there was a good dinner and some music.. and to end it all was a pretty good firework show. I was sooooo tired that night. :)

Mess??? What mess?

Emily really enjoyed her spaghetti!! She is to the point where she doesn't want help when she is eating her food and she just wants to do it herself. Soooo... after trying for a few minuets to see if she would eat from my fork (and having no luck) i put it onto her tray so that she could do it herself... little miss independent :) Well, this is the result of self feeding with messy food. She went strait to the bath after this one.

Freemont Indian State Park

First of all... i have no clue how to flip this picture so that it looks normal, but any way we went to Freemont Indian state Park for Emily first camping trip!!
We hiked all over and saw some cool indian carvings and paintings. There was this one that was a painting of a blanket and it was 16 feet by 4 feet. the story of it was that this Piute indain lady
lost her baby and she couldn't stand that fact that her baby was burried and all alone so she came back and painted a blanket to keep "it" warm.

this is Emily and dad before taking a nap in the tent

Hiking all over kind of reminded me of goblin valley. it was so cool all of the different formations of the sand a stuff.

On sunday we had a little mini church and sang hymns and my mom gave a lesson. I helped Shaylee draw hearts all over a paper plate and then she would color them. It was lots of fun.
