I'm scared of Santa!

We had a special guest at our ward Christmas pary. Santa was in one of the side rooms off of the gym and Michael took Emily and peeked in through the window and saw santa. She came running to me screaming that she saw Santa!! Michael picked her up to take her back and he said that she was shaking she was so excited.
Michael put her on his lap and she was fine... until he looked at her and started talking!! She jumped right off of him as fast as she could and didn't want to look at him, but Michael convinced her to.
So instead of Santa asking her what she wanted for Christmas on his lap, he ended up asking her what she wanted on "Daddy's" lap. Now whenever we mention Santa she says, " I don't like him... I don't want him to come." I think that what she see's what Santa brings her for Christmas then she will like him a bit more. We'll see.

Contruction... UGH!!!

Now that Michael is out of school for Christmas break we thought it was a good time to continue all of the construction in the basement. Emily has to be right there helping. It's cute, but sometimes annoying when you step back and she is right there. The drill was her favorite. She helped Michael with almost all of the drilling.

We were mudding the walls and we kept telling Emily that she can't touch them because it was wet and we needed it to dry first. Well, Michael and I were mudding the cealing not really paying attention to Emily and next thing we know she is laughing. We turn to see and the wall is all messed up and this was her face. We got mad and her and what she thought was something funny quickly turned to this face...

Go Christmas house!

So I went to costco last night and as I was driving there I notice the lack of Christmas spirit in all of the drivers. I only live 4 miles away from the costco, but I about died twice!! Why is everyone in such a hurry that they don't look or don't care? I think that it is really sad that when Christmas comes and people are supposed to be jolly and nice is when most of them are the most grumpy of all. There was a lady arguing with the checker in the line that I was in because she asked for cash back and he gave her a crumpled 20 dollar bill and not a new one. She wanted it for a Christmas gift, but told the guy checker that it wasn't going to be a very nice looking Christmas gift now. I just stood there staring at her probably with my mouth hanging open thinking...WHO CARES!! I am sure that the person reciving the money is not going to take it now just because it is not crisp!!!
I took a different way home to stop at another store and I passed this house and it was the most decorated house I have ever seen! There were lights on every part of that house in the front and back. On the trees, on the lawn... seriously EVERYWHERE! Thanks to that house my mood changed back to good. What a way to give people Christmas cheer!! Again I say Go Christmas House!!!

Just for laughs...

Kalia is just starting to push up and hold her head up while she is on hsr belly. I crack up everytime I look at her face in this picture!!

Putting up the chirstmas tree...

This year was really exciting for me to put the tree up. Last year Emily could have cared less about putting it up, but she loved to pull all of the bulbs off of the tree. So this year when I asked Emily if she wanted to help us put up the tree, she jumped up and down yelling, "Yes, it's Christmas!! Yes, it's Christmas!!" She helped her daddy spread all of the branches out so that they looked good. It was funny casue she is such a perfectionist that it took her forever just to do one branch and then when she was done with one she would stop, look at it for a minute and then change something that needed fixed in her eyes.

We were checking all the lights to make sure that they all worked and Emily wanted to put them on her. She called it her "light clothes."

She made Daddy put them on too!!!
Emily had a real good time decorating the tree. She held the lights while I strung them on the tree and she put all the bulbs that she could on the tree. The whole time that she was doing this she would say over and over... "This is so beautiful." Thank goodness for shatter proof bulbs.

I took this picture because this is how the bottom of the whole tree looks. There are clumps on bulbs all right by each other and then a little ways away there is another clump. I tried to tell her that they need to go all over and she said that she put them where they are supposed to be. I decided to leave them how she put them. It gives the tree character. :)

We hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a happy new year. I hope that you recive all the blessings of togetherness and love this season.
