I'm scared of Santa!

We had a special guest at our ward Christmas pary. Santa was in one of the side rooms off of the gym and Michael took Emily and peeked in through the window and saw santa. She came running to me screaming that she saw Santa!! Michael picked her up to take her back and he said that she was shaking she was so excited.
Michael put her on his lap and she was fine... until he looked at her and started talking!! She jumped right off of him as fast as she could and didn't want to look at him, but Michael convinced her to.
So instead of Santa asking her what she wanted for Christmas on his lap, he ended up asking her what she wanted on "Daddy's" lap. Now whenever we mention Santa she says, " I don't like him... I don't want him to come." I think that what she see's what Santa brings her for Christmas then she will like him a bit more. We'll see.

Contruction... UGH!!!

Now that Michael is out of school for Christmas break we thought it was a good time to continue all of the construction in the basement. Emily has to be right there helping. It's cute, but sometimes annoying when you step back and she is right there. The drill was her favorite. She helped Michael with almost all of the drilling.

We were mudding the walls and we kept telling Emily that she can't touch them because it was wet and we needed it to dry first. Well, Michael and I were mudding the cealing not really paying attention to Emily and next thing we know she is laughing. We turn to see and the wall is all messed up and this was her face. We got mad and her and what she thought was something funny quickly turned to this face...

Go Christmas house!

So I went to costco last night and as I was driving there I notice the lack of Christmas spirit in all of the drivers. I only live 4 miles away from the costco, but I about died twice!! Why is everyone in such a hurry that they don't look or don't care? I think that it is really sad that when Christmas comes and people are supposed to be jolly and nice is when most of them are the most grumpy of all. There was a lady arguing with the checker in the line that I was in because she asked for cash back and he gave her a crumpled 20 dollar bill and not a new one. She wanted it for a Christmas gift, but told the guy checker that it wasn't going to be a very nice looking Christmas gift now. I just stood there staring at her probably with my mouth hanging open thinking...WHO CARES!! I am sure that the person reciving the money is not going to take it now just because it is not crisp!!!
I took a different way home to stop at another store and I passed this house and it was the most decorated house I have ever seen! There were lights on every part of that house in the front and back. On the trees, on the lawn... seriously EVERYWHERE! Thanks to that house my mood changed back to good. What a way to give people Christmas cheer!! Again I say Go Christmas House!!!

Just for laughs...

Kalia is just starting to push up and hold her head up while she is on hsr belly. I crack up everytime I look at her face in this picture!!

Putting up the chirstmas tree...

This year was really exciting for me to put the tree up. Last year Emily could have cared less about putting it up, but she loved to pull all of the bulbs off of the tree. So this year when I asked Emily if she wanted to help us put up the tree, she jumped up and down yelling, "Yes, it's Christmas!! Yes, it's Christmas!!" She helped her daddy spread all of the branches out so that they looked good. It was funny casue she is such a perfectionist that it took her forever just to do one branch and then when she was done with one she would stop, look at it for a minute and then change something that needed fixed in her eyes.

We were checking all the lights to make sure that they all worked and Emily wanted to put them on her. She called it her "light clothes."

She made Daddy put them on too!!!
Emily had a real good time decorating the tree. She held the lights while I strung them on the tree and she put all the bulbs that she could on the tree. The whole time that she was doing this she would say over and over... "This is so beautiful." Thank goodness for shatter proof bulbs.

I took this picture because this is how the bottom of the whole tree looks. There are clumps on bulbs all right by each other and then a little ways away there is another clump. I tried to tell her that they need to go all over and she said that she put them where they are supposed to be. I decided to leave them how she put them. It gives the tree character. :)

We hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a happy new year. I hope that you recive all the blessings of togetherness and love this season.

Emily's snowman...

Yesterday it snowed 11 inches at our house and Emily was begging me to go outside and play in the snow, so I told her that we could, but not then cause it was sunday and that we would make a snowman and play outside today (monday). Here is the result...

A pretty good looking snowman if I may so myself!! And thankyou Kalia for sleeping so that we could play in the snow :)

A few thanks...

I know that I should be thankful ALWAYS,,, and I am, but in the spirit of Thanksgiving this month I just wanted to share a few things that I am thankful for...

1. I am so thankful for sleeping babies so that I can get some things done around the house. I am so thankful for Kalia and what a good baby she is. She is getting so big. I am also thankful for binki's to plug babies mouths with when they are crying. :) It's like a drug or something. Kalia will be crying and then I put the binki in and it's instant calmness. 2. I am thankful for my house and everything in it. It is so nice to have a place to call my own and that it keeps me warm and safe. My bed so that I can sleep comfortable, my food to eat (even though I need not eat as much as I do!)

3. My car!! Right now we only have one car, but even as old as it is... I am still so very thankful for it.

4. Emily. She keeps me busy and entertained all day. She is such a smart little girl and loves to learn. She goes around the house all day singing songs and dancing... she calls herself the princess. I can't believe that she will be 3 in a few months!!!

5. My calling in the church. I am the 1st councelor in the Young Women and I love to work with the girls in my ward. I would keep this calling all my life if I could.

6. Last, but definitley not least... My awesome husband Michael. He has such a crazy life right now with full time school, full time work and the 1st councelor in the Bishopric. We don't get to see him very much right now, but when we do he alway makes the most of it. Emily can't wait to have daddy time!! He is so paitient and understanding.... Thank you Michael.

I am excited for Thanksgiving this year. I can't wait to be with my family and just be together playing games and looking at all the adds planing our route for the next morning... BLACK FRIDAY!!! One of my favorite days of the year :)

Kalia's growing so big

Kalia will be 6 weeks old tomorrow!!! I can't believe that it has gone by so fast. She is changing every day. She is just starting to smile at me and it is the funniest looking smile ever. What a sweet girl she is. She is such a good baby. She sleeps anywhere from 6-8 hours a night!! But in the day she makes up for the long gap of not eating... I swear that all I do is feed her, but that is what babies do... eat, sleep, poop and eat some more!

Making bread with daddy

Michael is the one in our family that makes home made bread. I have tried and tried and it never turns out right. So he volunteered himself to be our bread maker. Emily wanted to make bread with daddy so here are some pictures on them. Emily looks pretty clean in these pictures. By the time they were done, she had bread dough all in her hair and on her face.

It's coming...

I can feel it. Winter is almost here! I am not sure if I am excited about it or not, but today is awesome. I have waited for soooo long to be home on a day like today where it is chucking down a snow/rain mix and freezing cold outside and I am at home in my pajamas sipping hot chocolate and reading a book. Love it!!

Big sister

Emily stayed with my sister while I was in the hospital. After I had Kalia, Christine brought Emily to see her new sister. Let me tell you... Emily was freaked out. She didn't understand why the baby was out! She didn't want anything to do with her. I would ask her if she wanted to hold her and she would give me a face of discust and say NO!! I would ask if she loved her sister and she would do the same!!

But as you now can see, that has all changed and she loves her sister!!! She always wants to hold her and give her binki to her. Most of all she loves to help me give her a bath. She is such a good helper.

Kalia had really bad jaundice, so she had to be in a billy bed for the first week that she was home. It really sucked, cause all i wanted to do was hold her, but i could only take her out to feed her and bathe her, then she had to go right back in. I slept out on the couch so that i could keep an eye on her... poor thing. She hated it and I don't blame her. What new born wants to be sprawled out with no blanket or clothes?
I had to take her to the hospital every day and they would prick her foot and draw blood. She would scream and scream.... i hated it!

Here she is....

Here is Kalia. She was born on October 1st at 9:00 pm. She weighed 9lbs 5 oz. Doesn't she look funny here? She has the chunky cheeks!!

I'm a balloon!!

I officially only have 6 days left until my due date and let me tell you, I am so ready to have this kid!! My belly is so big that i can't hardly bend over to tie my shoes, my ankles (or should i say what ankles?) are so swolen it's worse that cankles. Michael calls it Elephantitis!! My hands go numb sometimes because they are so swolen fat! Man it kind of sucks what babies can do to you. Other than being uncomfortable can i just say that it is soooooo good to be home. I have missed so much time with Emily and i love to hear every funny little thing she has to say. In fact... as i am typing right now she just asked me... "Mommy, guess what?" and i said what, then she said back to me... "Chicken butt!!!" Yeah, she learned that at my sisters house... the first time she said it to me was in the car on the way home from a store and i could not stop laughing. What 2 year old knows that that is funny? Earlier today when i was cooking dinner i would bend over to give my back some relief and she asked me, "Mommy is the baby kicking you so hard and it hurts?" i said, not right now, just my back hurts, so she went and pulled over a chair from the kitchen table and stood up on it behind me and started rubbing my back saying i'm sorry that your back hurts mommy, oh i'm sorry. She can be sweet :)

Stress...

So I am officailly at that point where I am SSSSSOOOOOO done being pregnant!! I have 3 weeks to go, but every day I tell myself that this is the day... and then nothing happens. Any one have any ideas of what will enduce labor? i'm just kidding. :)
Life is just crazy right now. I am still working full time. Michael was put in as the 1st councelor in the bishopric, is going to school full time (noon to 8:30pm) to get his AMP licence so that he can work on the engine of the airplane and then works from 9pm to 6am thurs. night through sunday night. i'm really thankful for my mom right now... she is letting us borrow her car until the 17th (my official last day of work), but after that we will only have our one car and Michael has it pretty much all day. So I am kind of nervous about going into labor, because if Michael is in school he'll get in trouble for leaving... it's FAA regulated!!! Stress! Stress! Stress! I'm not supposed to have Stress!!
Other than all of that I'm really excited for fall. I love all of the color change and the smell of people starting to use thier fireplaces and I can't ever get enough of the crisp fresh air...mmm. What a year!!

St. George Temple

We went to a family reunion in St. George last week and while we were there we went over to the temple to take some pictures. I am only posting one of me and it's very far away because pictures when you are pregnant are not flattering!!!!! But pictures of Michael and cute little Emily are very nice to look at.

Hogle Zoo

We took a trip to the Zoo and Emily loved all of the animals. We saw baby zuri the elephant... And we saw the giraffs. Emily kept saying that they were big and tall.

Corn on the cob BANDITS!!!!

Once a month we have Michael's family come up to our house and we have a get together. Emily loves to play with her cousins- this particular time Michael's mom brought corn on the cob and while all of the adults we sitting in the living room and talking i noticed that Emily got really quiet. When i went to find her this is what I found... Emily and her cousin Gideon had taken the pot of corn from the table and they were finishing them off for us. :)

I guess that it is just a good thing that it was something healthy and not messy!!!

wow!!!

Can i just say that i am soooo thankful for a cat that will let Emily wrap him up in a blanket (my kitchen towels!!!!) and haul him around like a baby. She totally chokes him and he just will sit there are let her do whatever. Sometimes (like these pictures) he falls asleep. wow!! She is going to have a rude awakening when she goes up to some cat and thinking that she can treat them like she does her cats. You have to learn sometime :)
