My trip to.....

HAWAII!!!

We thought that we would take a trip to Hawaii the end of September. My aunt needed help with painting her house and what a good excuse it was for a trip! I took Kalia and left Emily home. My sister Chistine came with her daughter Melanie and my brother came with Karen and thier two boys Corbin and Ryker... and lets not forget my parents of course!
Here we are on the airplane getting ready to take off. I am sooooo glad that I sat by Christine!! At first they had me separate from them cause they were flying on buddy passes and I was flying on an employee pass, but I asked the gate agent if he would sit us together and he did. I was worried what I would do with Kalia if it were just me sitting by stragers with a wild and crazy baby who will not hold still!!

Shon and Ryker sat right behind us and Karen and Corbin sat behind them. My parents sat in the far back. hehehehe Ryker fell asleep before we even took off!!

It took Kalia a while for her to fall asleep, but when she finally did zonk out she was sprawled accross our laps (mostly Christine's) thanks be to her... she and Melanie were a HUGE help with Kalia!!

I thought that this was funny! Kalia loves water. She loves to go swimming, she loves the bath, she loves the sprinklers, but she did not love the ocean! This is the first time I tried to put her in the water and she didn't want anything to do with it. She would lift her legs up and she had this permanent scowel on her face! It was so funny.

Of course one of the days we drove up to the north shore and went to Motsimoto's. If you ever go to Hawaii you have to come here. It is a total tourist attraction, but even so... you have to go here! They have the best shave ice ever! It's huge and yummy and has ice cream on the bottom. I always get the same flavors... lilikoi(passion fruit), almond and coconut. So good!

Kalia LOVED having tastes of everyones!

And this is how the days ended!!! We drug Kalia all over and she crashed every night!

So much fun! And my aunts house looks good too. Glad we went!

The Farm

We went down to the farm (Michael's parents house) the other day because Michael's cousin that he hasn't seen for a long time was down there with her kids. Emily had the time of her life and Kalia was such a trooper... we had a LONG day!

I couldn't get Emily off of the tramp. I think that we need to get one!

We took Emiy out to see the horses and cows and Michael's dad was out there getting the food ready for the cows to eat. He pulled the tracker over and had Emily jump in with him. He let her drive it and she was just smiling sooo big every time they passes us to put food in the mixer. I got up on the mixer to see how it all worked. It's pretty cool.

I am glad that Emily get's the chance to see this kind of stuff. To drive a tractor, to ride and pet a horse, to feed cows, gather eggs from the chickens, and to have a 300 + acre playground!

The Princess Festival!!!

Yesterday I went to the Princess Festival at Thanksgiving Point with Emily and her cousin Shaylee. I had been talking with Emily about this for a long time and she wasn't so sure about it until she found out that her cousin (her FAVORITE person in the whole world) was coming with us. Then she was really excited to go. She would call Shaylee on her pretend phone and hold full on conversations about what they were going to do and how much they were going to like all of the princesses.

Here we are in the car just before leaving for the festival!! Thanks to Shaylee for the dress, gloves and purse with lipstick (really chapstick) and bracelet. Emily would put some of the chapstick on and then say to me, "Mom, now do I look like a real princess?"

When we got out of the car and got to the gate to go in they had this carriage. They wanted a ride, it was just there for show! They look really cute sitting in it though!

When we got inside they gave me a map and we got to walk around to different stations and meet different princesses and all of the other "cast" members from that story. The first one that we came to was Alice in Wonderland. Here is the Queen of Hearts and Alice and the Mad Hatter.

Next was Beauty and the Beast. They had these books that they took around to get everyones autograph. They both practically thew thier books to Beauty, but when it came to the Beast they were pretty shy about it, but they did let him sign it! Then when I told the girls to stand close so I could get a picture, Emily ran right up to Beauty (Belle) but Shaylee wasn't so sure. I had to keep scooting her closer to him and that was as close as she would go. I was secretly laughing inside. hehehehe Silly girls!!

The Twelve Dancing Princesses... we went in a cave and saw the dancing princesses. They told thier story and then taught the girls a dance. This is them attempting that dance.

This is one of the Twelve Princesses. Her princess name is Opal, but her real name is Billie Anne. She is or should I say was one of my young women in my ward. (I just got released) She gave Emily a free ticket to go and I am soooo greatful because if not for her we would not have gone. It's crazy how expensive the tickets were!!! Thanks again Billie Anne!

Here they are just chilling waiting for Aurora's autograph. (Not sure if I spelled her name right)

This here is the Queen from the story of the Magic Flute. They had a little stage and did a short production of story. Really cute.

Cinderella!!! They did a little production of Cinderella too. It was really cute, they involved the girls with the Ball. They did a really good job, but personally I think that they could have got a better person to play Cinderella. I liked it though.

Here is a step sister... and the step mother. They did a really good job. I laughed almost the whole time that they did thier parts. Emily and Shaylee kept looking at my like I was crazy or something!!

We found Captin Hook as we were headed to our next princess. He was just wandering around. I saw him and told the girls to go have him sign thier books. They were very reluctant about it. Finally they did and then I asked them if they wanted to get thier picture taken with him. Emily starts backing up with kind of a scared face and flat out says, "NO." I laughed out loud at that!!! Then I made them stand by him. As you can see Emily didn't want to be by him as she is leaning towards Shaylee. None of them are smiling because Captain Hook told them that pirates don't say cheese they say AAARRRRR!! So that is what they did.

Ever since the new Tangled movie came out... of course she is her new FAVORITE princess. As you can see in her face... she is very excited to be sitting by Rapunzel!

Next was snow white. They did a short play also, but we missed half of it.

When we got to the frog prince I just had to get her picture with him. If you look close there is a camera to the left of Emily's shoulder where the frog prince can see. As Emily went to stand my him he started talking to her calling her by name and telling her to say cheese. Her face was priceless!!! She didn't know what to think about this frog that was taling to her. He asked her what her favorite color was and her answer was.... Rapuzel!! I don't think that she was thinking straight after just seeing her Rapunzel and then having a pretend frog call her by name!! Funny.

Ok, so this is Mila. She is the "new" princess this year that they introduced.

On our way out we passed the little mermaid and of course there were a TON of people around her. It was a really hot day and a bunch of kids were playing in the water by her. I asked Emily why she was giving the camera a funny face and she told me that it wasn't funny... she was winking at me!!

What a fun day!! The girls were really good sports as we walked around for almost 3 hours in the hot hot sun. The Princess Festival rocks!!! I can't wait for next year.

cat.... what?

The other day I was feeding Kalia and I went to get something to wipe her off with and this is what I found when I came back... it's really funny, but also really gross!! Who knew cats would eat carrots!!

3 years old!!!

Emily turned 3 years old on April 2nd. I can't believe that she is so big already! I have a 3 year old? Her birthday was simple, but fun. :) I had the house decorated with streamers and balloons and when she woke up she asked me, "mom why did you do that to the house?" I just laughed and said... because it's your birthday silly. She just gave me a HUGE smile and then said," I'm a big girl now cause I'm 3 huh?"
Emily's birthday always falls on the week of conference... in fact I watched conference in the hospital with both of my kids. (funny) Emily in April and Kalia in October.

My parents came up and they took us to dinner and after my dad and Michael went to the priesthood session.

When they got back Emily got to open her birthday presents and we ate cake. She got some books, clothes, a lava lamp and a pillow pet for her birthday. She was really excited to open all of her presents.

Yes I made this cake!! I know that it's not the greatest, but it's the first cake that I have ever decorated. I figure that she's only 3 now so I have a few years to practice right?

Happy birthday kiddo!! 3 going on 23!!
