The Princess Festival!!!

Yesterday I went to the Princess Festival at Thanksgiving Point with Emily and her cousin Shaylee. I had been talking with Emily about this for a long time and she wasn't so sure about it until she found out that her cousin (her FAVORITE person in the whole world) was coming with us. Then she was really excited to go. She would call Shaylee on her pretend phone and hold full on conversations about what they were going to do and how much they were going to like all of the princesses.

Here we are in the car just before leaving for the festival!! Thanks to Shaylee for the dress, gloves and purse with lipstick (really chapstick) and bracelet. Emily would put some of the chapstick on and then say to me, "Mom, now do I look like a real princess?"

When we got out of the car and got to the gate to go in they had this carriage. They wanted a ride, it was just there for show! They look really cute sitting in it though!

When we got inside they gave me a map and we got to walk around to different stations and meet different princesses and all of the other "cast" members from that story. The first one that we came to was Alice in Wonderland. Here is the Queen of Hearts and Alice and the Mad Hatter.

Next was Beauty and the Beast. They had these books that they took around to get everyones autograph. They both practically thew thier books to Beauty, but when it came to the Beast they were pretty shy about it, but they did let him sign it! Then when I told the girls to stand close so I could get a picture, Emily ran right up to Beauty (Belle) but Shaylee wasn't so sure. I had to keep scooting her closer to him and that was as close as she would go. I was secretly laughing inside. hehehehe Silly girls!!

The Twelve Dancing Princesses... we went in a cave and saw the dancing princesses. They told thier story and then taught the girls a dance. This is them attempting that dance.

This is one of the Twelve Princesses. Her princess name is Opal, but her real name is Billie Anne. She is or should I say was one of my young women in my ward. (I just got released) She gave Emily a free ticket to go and I am soooo greatful because if not for her we would not have gone. It's crazy how expensive the tickets were!!! Thanks again Billie Anne!

Here they are just chilling waiting for Aurora's autograph. (Not sure if I spelled her name right)

This here is the Queen from the story of the Magic Flute. They had a little stage and did a short production of story. Really cute.

Cinderella!!! They did a little production of Cinderella too. It was really cute, they involved the girls with the Ball. They did a really good job, but personally I think that they could have got a better person to play Cinderella. I liked it though.

Here is a step sister... and the step mother. They did a really good job. I laughed almost the whole time that they did thier parts. Emily and Shaylee kept looking at my like I was crazy or something!!

We found Captin Hook as we were headed to our next princess. He was just wandering around. I saw him and told the girls to go have him sign thier books. They were very reluctant about it. Finally they did and then I asked them if they wanted to get thier picture taken with him. Emily starts backing up with kind of a scared face and flat out says, "NO." I laughed out loud at that!!! Then I made them stand by him. As you can see Emily didn't want to be by him as she is leaning towards Shaylee. None of them are smiling because Captain Hook told them that pirates don't say cheese they say AAARRRRR!! So that is what they did.

Ever since the new Tangled movie came out... of course she is her new FAVORITE princess. As you can see in her face... she is very excited to be sitting by Rapunzel!

Next was snow white. They did a short play also, but we missed half of it.

When we got to the frog prince I just had to get her picture with him. If you look close there is a camera to the left of Emily's shoulder where the frog prince can see. As Emily went to stand my him he started talking to her calling her by name and telling her to say cheese. Her face was priceless!!! She didn't know what to think about this frog that was taling to her. He asked her what her favorite color was and her answer was.... Rapuzel!! I don't think that she was thinking straight after just seeing her Rapunzel and then having a pretend frog call her by name!! Funny.

Ok, so this is Mila. She is the "new" princess this year that they introduced.

On our way out we passed the little mermaid and of course there were a TON of people around her. It was a really hot day and a bunch of kids were playing in the water by her. I asked Emily why she was giving the camera a funny face and she told me that it wasn't funny... she was winking at me!!

What a fun day!! The girls were really good sports as we walked around for almost 3 hours in the hot hot sun. The Princess Festival rocks!!! I can't wait for next year.
